Exact blocks
Every wall and cap block comes from the generated voxel blueprint.
Convert a diameter and height into an exact Minecraft cylinder. Choose hollow walls or a solid volume, set the wall thickness and end caps, then use the 3D preview and horizontal blueprint to place every block.
The highlighted ring is the selected horizontal layer. Repeat the same centred circle as you build upward.
The generator rasterizes one centred circle on Minecraft's block grid, then turns it into the required vertical layers. Wall thickness and optional caps are calculated separately, so the block count matches the displayed build.

Check each level and keep the circular footprint aligned.
See the clear diameter left after the selected wall thickness.
Choose the outside width of the tower, tank, pillar or circular room.
Enter the number of vertical block layers from the base to the top.
Choose hollow or solid, then adjust wall thickness and caps.
Build each displayed layer on the same centre and verify the count.
A Minecraft cylinder generator converts a mathematical round column into block coordinates that can actually be built. A cylinder uses the same circular footprint at every height, unlike a cone that becomes narrower or a sphere whose diameter changes from layer to layer. The result is useful for castle towers, grain silos, water tanks, smokestacks, pillars, tree trunks, rocket bodies, arenas and large circular rooms.
The most important part is not merely drawing one circle. A practical tool must calculate how the circle becomes a wall, how much interior space remains, whether the top and bottom are open, and how many materials the complete structure consumes. This page treats those choices as separate controls and recalculates every horizontal layer immediately.
| Configuration | Best use | Material behavior |
|---|---|---|
| Hollow, open | Towers, chimneys and vertical tunnels | Only the circular wall repeats |
| Hollow, capped | Tanks, sealed rooms and capsules | Full circles close the first and last layer |
| Solid | Pillars, terrain and sculpture | Every block inside each circle is filled |
| Thick wall | Fortified towers and hidden utilities | Extra circular rings reduce interior space |
Hollow mode is the usual choice for buildings. A one-block ring gives the greatest interior space and the lowest material cost. Increase the thickness when the structure needs battlements, hidden lighting, water channels, redstone or a second interior material. The live interior diameter helps prevent a tower that looks large outside but is too narrow for stairs or rooms.
Solid mode fills every circular layer. It is better for structural pillars, landscape forms and sculptures where no accessible interior is needed. Because a large solid cylinder can consume many stacks, check the exact total before gathering materials. Caps apply only to hollow cylinders: Open leaves both ends empty, while Closed fills the first and final circle to create a floor and ceiling.
Use the Minecraft Circle Generator when you only need a flat outline or foundation. Use this cylinder page when that circle must repeat vertically. A Minecraft Cone Generator gradually reduces the radius toward a point, and a Minecraft Dome Generator follows the curved upper half of a sphere. Keeping these tools separate prevents identical content and gives every geometry the right block plan.
Minecraft stores blocks on a square grid, so a smooth radius must be rounded into steps. Small cylinders show larger jumps, while wide cylinders have longer straight runs and appear smoother at normal viewing distance. The blueprint uses the same centred voxel circle on every level, which keeps the tower symmetrical and prevents the wall from drifting as its height increases.
Select the diameter and height, switch to Layers, build the circular blueprint, and repeat it upward on the same centre for the requested number of levels.
Yes. Hollow mode supports adjustable wall thickness and optional top and bottom caps.
The live calculator counts the exact cells in every generated layer and converts the total into full 64-block stacks plus a remainder.
Choose the diameter according to the usable interior. A one-block wall removes roughly two blocks from the clear width, while thicker walls remove more.
An open cylinder only repeats the wall ring. Closed mode fills the complete first and last circles to create a floor and ceiling.
Yes. It is a visual block placement plan with no mod, command or edition-specific dependency.
