Exact blocks
Material totals update for every size, orientation and fill choice.
Turn an outside diameter and tube size into an exact Minecraft torus. Build a flat donut or an upright hoop, choose a hollow shell or filled tube, and follow every horizontal layer with live block totals.
The highlighted blocks form the selected horizontal layer. Build from Layer 1 upward.
A torus is not simply a thick flat circle. Its tube curves vertically as well as around the centre opening. This generator voxelizes that full volume, so every displayed block belongs to the selected Minecraft ring.
Material totals update for every size, orientation and fill choice.
Use a precise bottom-up blueprint instead of estimating the curve.
Check that players, roads or scenery fit through the centre.
Outer diameter controls the complete width from one edge to the opposite edge.
Tube diameter changes the ring's height, weight and centre opening.
Use Flat for ground rings and Upright for hoops, tires and portals.
Start at Layer 1, keep the centre aligned and work upward.
A Minecraft torus generator converts a smooth donut-shaped surface into blocks that fit the game's square grid. The form is made by sweeping a small circle—the tube—around a larger circular path. That creates two independent measurements: the outer diameter of the whole structure and the diameter of the tube itself. Controlling both is essential because two rings with the same overall width can have completely different openings, heights and material costs.
This tool calculates the complete 3D voxel form rather than repeating one flat outline. Each horizontal slice changes as it crosses the round tube. The first layer may contain narrow arcs, the middle layers become the widest, and the upper layers mirror the bottom. Use the 3D preview to judge the finished silhouette, then switch to Layers for the exact construction plan.
Flat orientation puts the torus around the vertical Y axis. It works well for circular fountains, arena rims, orbital space stations, pool surrounds, large bases and decorative platforms. Its total height equals the selected tube diameter. The ring stays centred on the ground plan while each level describes a different cross-section of the tube.
Upright orientation rotates the ring into a vertical plane. Choose it for portal frames, wheels, sci-fi gates, giant tires, wall ornaments and arches that continue beneath the visible floor. The tool still outputs horizontal construction layers, so the lowest arc appears first, expands toward the centre and narrows again at the top. You do not need to rotate a confusing flat diagram in your head.
| Choice | Best for | What changes |
|---|---|---|
| Flat torus | Arenas, fountains and orbital rings | Height equals tube diameter |
| Upright torus | Portals, hoops, wheels and gates | Height equals outer diameter |
| Hollow tube | Large builds and survival projects | Only the exposed tube shell remains |
| Filled tube | Compact sculpture and terrain | The complete donut volume is filled |
Outer diameter measures the torus from edge to edge. Tube diameter measures the round cross-section that travels around the ring. Increasing the tube while keeping the outer size fixed makes the torus chunkier and shrinks its hole. A thin tube creates a light hoop; a thick tube creates a heavy donut. The live centre-opening readout helps you reserve enough clearance for a road, doorway, statue, tree or interior build.
Small toruses are necessarily more stepped because Minecraft cannot place partial blocks. Very thin tubes can also separate into visually sparse arcs. If the preview looks broken, increase the outer diameter, increase the tube diameter, or use a wider viewing distance. Odd measurements often give a single centred axis; even measurements centre the form between blocks. Both are valid, but mark the midpoint before building so every layer stays aligned.
Hollow Tube keeps the visible shell and removes blocks fully enclosed by neighboring blocks. It preserves the same outside silhouette while using fewer materials, which is usually the better option for survival builds and large sci-fi rings. Filled Tube retains every voxel inside the toroidal volume. Choose it when the cross-section must be solid, when you plan to carve details later, or when a small sculpture needs maximum visual weight.
The block count is generated from the exact same coordinates shown in the blueprint. Stacks and remainder divide that number by 64 for resource planning. Add a small reserve for temporary scaffolding, decorative trim and any blocks replaced by lighting, windows or entrances.
Use the Minecraft Circle Generator for a single flat ring or circular foundation. Use the Minecraft Cylinder Generator when one circular footprint repeats vertically to make a tower or tank. A Minecraft Sphere Generator closes around one central volume with no opening. The torus is the correct choice when a genuinely round tube travels around a permanent central hole. You can also compare the broader family in the Minecraft 3D Shape Generator.
Some builders search for a Minecraft torus generator command, but command syntax depends on the edition, server tools and installed plugins. This page deliberately produces a block blueprint instead. It works without WorldEdit, command blocks, mods or downloads, and the same plan can be followed in Java Edition, Bedrock Edition and console worlds. Advanced users can translate the coordinates into their preferred editor later, while ordinary builders can construct the shape by hand immediately.
Set the outer and tube diameters, select Flat or Upright, and follow the horizontal blueprints from Layer 1 upward. Keep every layer on the same marked centre.
Outer diameter is the full edge-to-edge size. Tube diameter controls how thick and tall the material around the hole becomes.
Yes. Hollow Tube removes fully enclosed blocks but keeps the external shell. Filled Tube retains the complete volume.
Yes. Choose Upright before building. The layer slider will show the vertical hoop as horizontal construction slices from its lowest point to its top.
Yes. It outputs a visual block plan, not edition-specific commands, so it works anywhere normal blocks can be placed.
